Council Responsibilities:

The Council President, with the approval of the Executive Committee, may appoint a chairperson and members for each branch of ministry. Each branch shall include a member of the Council. Although appointed by and responsible to the Council, these branch chairpersons and Council members shall be recognized as representatives of the interests of, and performing essential services for the congregation as a whole. It shall be the responsibility of each branch chairperson to summon other confirmed members of the congregation, in active standing, as necessary, to serve the interests of the congregation in areas of concern within each branch. The pastor(s) shall have voice and vote in all branches, committees, and task group meetings. Except for certain stipulated duties assigned to each committee, the Council along with the instructions as to the best interests of the congregation shall assign the duties of all branches. All actions of branches, committees and task groups shall be subject to review by the Council.
